Our Beliefs

  1. We believe in the plenary and verbal inspiration of both the Old and New Testaments, and that they are the supreme and final authority in faith and practice (2 Timothy 3:15-17).
  2. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, And Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19)
  3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit (John 1:13), born of the virgin Mary (Matthew 1:18), and is true God and true man (John 1:10-11).
  4. We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice(1 John 2:2), and that all who believe on Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood (1 John 1:9).
  5. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of Jesus Christ (John 11:35) and in His ascension into Heaven (Ephesians 4:10), there to appear as our High Priest and Advocate (Hebrews 4:14).
  6. We believe that man was created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), that he sinned and fell (Genesis 3:6), and therefore all men are born in sin (Romans 5:12), are depraved, and in need of salvation (Ephesians 2:5).
  7. We believe in the "blessed hope" (Titus 2:13); the personal, pre-tribulation, pre-millennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Matthew 14:24)
  8. We believe that all, who by faith receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior (Ephesians 2:8), are born of the Holy Spirit (John 3:5) become children of God (Romans 8:16), possess eternal life (Romans 6:23), and shall never perish (John 10:28).
  9. We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust (Romans 6:13), the everlasting blessedness of Heaven and the saved (2 Corinthians 5:1), and the everlasting, conscious punishment of the lost in a place called "Hell" (Psalm 9:17), prepared for Satan and his angels (Revelation 12:9).
  10. We believe that the Church is a company of believers (Acts 2:44) baptized by immersion (Colossians 2:12) and observing the ordinance of the Lord's Supper(1 Corinthians 11:23-26), banded together for fellowship (Ephesians 4:11) to carry out the great commission to preach the gospel to every creature (Matthew 28:19-20), for the edification of the saints (Ephesians 4:12) and for their work in the ministry (Ephesians 4:13).

Our Standards

Having been led by the Spirit of God to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour, and having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of heaven and this assembly, most solemnly covenant with one another, that, God enabling us:

  1. We will walk together in brotherly love (Romans 12:10), exercising Christian care and watchfulness over each other (1 Peter 5:5a), and faithfully warn, rebuke, and admonish one another, as the case may require (Titus 2:15).
  2. We will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together for worship (Hebrews 10:25).
  3. We will attend the stated meetings of this church and sustain its ordinances, discipline, and doctrine (1 Timothy 4:12).
  4. We will work for its advancement in knowledge and in prosperity. (Acts 11:26)
  5. We will contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry among us and of this church, to the relief of the poor, and to spread the gospel (Romans 12:13).
  6. We will not omit the great duty of family (Psalm 103:17-18) and secret prayer (Matthew 6:6).
  7. We will earnestly endeavor to religiously educate our children, or such as may be under our care (Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
  8. We will endeavor by example and effort to seek the salvation of kindred, acquaintance, and the stranger within our gates (Titus 1:9).
  9. We will participate in each other’s joys and bear each other’s burdens and sorrows (Galatians 6:2).
  10. We will seek to become reconciled according to The Word of the Lord when we remember that our brother hath aught against us (Matthew 5:23-24).
  11. We will pay our debts (Romans 13:8) and follow peace with our neighbors at home and abroad (Hebrews 12:14).
  12. We will avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger, and deal with one another (Matthew 18).
  13. We will be faithful in our engagements (Philippians 1:6).
  14. We will be lights to the world and and followers of Him who hath called us out of darkness unto His marvelous light (1 John 1:7) and made us an holy nation, a peculiar people (1 Peter 2:9).
  15. We will, through life, amidst evil and good report, live soberly and be just in our dealings (Titus 2:11-12).
